Because of this, the Spectra S2 tends to be cheaper and what is available via insurance. Also, inexplicably, Spectra refuses to make a battery pack for the S2. Their reasoning is... go buy an S1 if you need to occasionally pump away from a wall plug.
So what can you do when you're a pumping mom who can't always be next to a wall plug? I've found a solution!
This Medela battery pack... IS COMPATIBLE!
I noticed that my Spectra S2 has a marking for "12V DC" where the power adapter plugs in, and I noticed that the Medela battery pack that I have also has a "12V DC" marking on it, and the plug happens to fit the pump. I plugged it in and gave it a try and it works!
Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!
